Linda McCray

My art reflects Montana's land and its history -- historical landmarks, landscapes and railroads. The mountains and plains have been a great inspiration and joy to me. As I paint in my studio, which is nestled in the mountains outside of historic Helena, I see such views as my new release "Majestic Elkhorn." I have also depicted train scenes outside of Montana that have touched my life. For many years, watching trains and hiking the tracks has been our main family hobby. My grandmother worked for the Great Northern taking supplies to locomotives during World War II.

John Coker

I felt that the computer revolution was mostly hype, and I am skeptical of it having an impact on my business. (I hope you prove me wrong.) The depth of what may be the most important technological development since steam power cannot be ignored. My artistic ability was recognized when I was young, and I have been painting seriously for the past twenty years. I have taken several art classes during that time, but I am basically self-taught. The long winter layoffs from railroading were spent developing my artistic skills. I became a full-time artist in 1995.

H.L. Scott III

Technical accuracy and attention to detail are the strongest characteristics of Scotty's style. The sharp contrasts and delicate shading create in the viewer the same excitement that Scotty feels for his trains. Scotty's works have been avidly collected ever since the release of his first of the Southern Pacific caboose #1212 in 1987. His works, including historic American railroads, short lines, narrow gauge and modern diesel equipment, are available through The Train Stores and he also displays them at railroad and art shows throughout the nation.

Paul Duckers

Being an avid train enthusiast from an early age, I have combined my art and love of railways into fine detailed paintings. I work mainly in Gouache & Pencil and often spend two to four weeks completing a painting. My work can be found as far afield as South Africa, Australia and America. I have displayed my work in many local art galleries and museums within my local area. Having no formal art training, I developed my first pencil in 1986 and always pay great attention to detail which can be seen more so in my recent colour paintings.
